Benefits

Our product offers capsule-form, commonly-used dosage of HMB in research studies of 3000mg per serving. Each serving also includes Vitamin D3 of 1600 IU to bring out the full benefits of HMB.

Our product offers HMB as myHMB®. myHMB® is a patented* HMB ingredient, the GOLD standard of HMB.

HMB with Vitamin D3 helps promote muscle growth and slow muscle breakdown. HMB not only contributes to enhanced muscle mass but also helps reduce exercise-induced muscle damage, leading to faster post-workout recovery. Moreover, HMB has been shown to improve strength and power output, making it particularly beneficial for individuals engaged in resistance training.

About HMB

HMB, also known as hydroxymethylbutyrate or β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate, is a compound found in the human body as an active metabolite of the essential amino acid leucine. This compound has been studied for over 25 years in close to 100 clinical studies, including over 20 studies involving healthy or hospitalized adults and other nutrients.

The effects of HMB on skeletal muscle seem to be linked to its influence on both muscle protein synthesis and muscle protein breakdown. HMB helps enhance muscle protein synthesis by stimulating a regulator called mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), which plays a role in cell growth and differentiation. Besides, HMB may also boost the activity of the growth hormone (GH)–insulin-like growth factor (IGF) axis.

On the other hand, HMB is thought to decrease protein breakdown by inhibiting the body's ubiquitin-proteasome system and caspases. These pathways are responsible for breaking down proteins during catabolic states, such as fasting, immobilization, and aging. As such, HMB may help minimize the loss of lean body mass in specific situations.

Supplementing with 3 grams of HMB per day has shown to be well tolerated. This is the standard dose used in research studies.

Historically, HMB's benefits have been more noticeable when combined with vitamin D. Studies have demonstrated that co-administering HMB with vitamin D3 can enhance muscle strength and physical functionality in older adults, even in individuals not engaged in an exercise training program.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does HMB and Vitamin D3 really work?
In a year-long randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published in the Journals of Gerontology, researchers found that among individuals who did not engage in regular exercise, those who received the combination of HMB & Vitamin D3 showed significant enhancements in physical function and tended to experience greater strength gains compared to those who received the placebo supplement. Furthermore, these improvements were sustained over the course of one year.

The effectiveness of dietary supplements can vary from person to person. Individual factors such as lifestyle, genetics, and overall health can influence outcomes.
